Missing the Ferry

If Tolga doesn't hurry, he will miss the seven o'clock ferry from Yalova to Istanbul. He has an important meeting at nine, and this ferry is the only way to arrive on time.

Tolga runs through the terminal, his laptop bag bouncing on his shoulder. If he arrives at the gate before it closes, he will still catch the boat. Unfortunately, the traffic on the way to the terminal has been worse than usual this morning.

When Tolga finally reaches the gate, the ferry is already moving away from the dock. "If only I had left the house ten minutes earlier," he thinks, frustrated. Now he must decide what to do next.

At the ticket counter, a worker tells him about the next ferry. "If you wait for the next one, you will arrive in Istanbul around ten thirty," she explains. Tolga calculates quickly: if the meeting starts at nine and he arrives late, his colleagues won't be happy, but the situation won't be disastrous either.

Tolga calls his business partner immediately. "If I take the next ferry, I will be about ninety minutes late," he explains honestly. His partner reassures him: "Don't worry. If you send me the presentation now, I will start the meeting without you."

While waiting for the next ferry, Tolga uses the time wisely. If he works on his phone during the wait, he won't fall further behind schedule. He reviews his notes and sends important documents to his team.

The next ferry arrives, and Tolga finds a quiet seat by the window. If the sea stays calm like this, the journey will feel relaxing despite the stressful morning. He watches the Marmara Sea and slowly begins to feel calmer.

By the time Tolga reaches Istanbul, his colleagues have already started the meeting successfully. "If something like this happens again," Tolga decides, "I will always leave the house much earlier." Sometimes, missing a ferry teaches unexpected lessons about patience.
