Last week, Gamze landed at Istanbul Airport after a long flight from London. She was tired and just wanted to go home quickly. She walked to the baggage area to get her suitcase.
Geçen hafta Gamze, Londra'dan uzun bir uçuşun ardından İstanbul Havalimanı'na indi. Yorgundu ve sadece hızlıca eve gitmek istiyordu. Bavulunu almak için bagaj alanına yürüdü.
She waited by the for almost thirty minutes. Other passengers were collecting their bags one by one, but Gamze's blue suitcase never appeared. She started to feel worried.
Neredeyse otuz dakika bagaj bandının yanında bekledi. Diğer yolcular çantalarını teker teker alıyordu ama Gamze'nin mavi bavulu hiç çıkmadı. Endişelenmeye başladı.
She went to the airline's counter and explained the situation to an employee. The employee was typing information into a computer while asking Gamze questions about her flight.
Havayolunun kayıp bagaj gişesine gitti ve durumu bir çalışana açıkladı. Çalışan, Gamze'ye uçuşu hakkında sorular sorarken bilgileri bilgisayara giriyordu.
"Don't worry," the employee said calmly. "This happens sometimes. We are going to find your suitcase and send it to your address." Gamze felt a little relieved, but still anxious.
"Endişelenmeyin," dedi çalışan sakin bir şekilde. "Bu bazen olur. Bavulunuzu bulup adresinize göndereceğiz." Gamze biraz rahatladı ama yine de kaygılıydı.
She gave her home address and phone number. The employee explained that they were going to check other flights because sometimes bags get loaded onto the wrong plane by mistake.
Ev adresini ve telefon numarasını verdi. Çalışan, bazen çantaların yanlışlıkla farklı bir uçağa yüklendiği için diğer uçuşları kontrol edeceklerini açıkladı.
Gamze went home without her suitcase, feeling frustrated. That evening, while she was watching television, her phone rang. It was the airline calling with good news.
Gamze bavulu olmadan eve gitti, hayal kırıklığına uğramış hissediyordu. O akşam televizyon izlerken telefonu çaldı. Havayoluydu, iyi haberle arıyordu.
"We found your suitcase," the employee said. "It was accidentally sent to Ankara. We are going to deliver it to your house tomorrow morning." Gamze felt very relieved and thanked her.
"Bavulunuzu bulduk," dedi çalışan. "Yanlışlıkla Ankara'ya gönderilmiş. Yarın sabah evinize teslim edeceğiz." Gamze çok rahatladı ve ona teşekkür etti.
The next morning, a delivery man arrived exactly on time with her suitcase. Everything inside was in perfect condition. Gamze was so happy that she almost hugged the delivery man!
Ertesi sabah bir kargo görevlisi tam zamanında bavuluyla geldi. İçindeki her şey mükemmel durumdaydı. Gamze o kadar mutluydu ki neredeyse kargo görevlisine sarılacaktı!
She wrote a positive review about the airline's customer service online. "They are going to lose bags sometimes," she wrote, "but this airline solved the problem quickly and kindly."
Havayolunun müşteri hizmetleri hakkında internette olumlu bir yorum yazdı. "Bazen çanta kaybedebilirler," diye yazdı, "ama bu havayolu sorunu hızlı ve nazikçe çözdü."
