A Surprise in the Coffee Fortune

Last weekend, Derya invited her friends over for Turkish coffee and fortune telling. It was a fun tradition among her friend group. Everyone was excited to hear what their coffee cups would reveal.

Geçen hafta sonu Derya arkadaşlarını Türk kahvesi ve fal bakma için evine davet etti. Arkadaş grubu arasında eğlenceli bir gelenekti. Herkes kahve fincanlarının ne ortaya çıkaracağını duymak için heyecanlıydı.

Derya's friend Ceyda was known in the group for reading coffee grounds. She was studying the shapes in each cup carefully, explaining what she saw with a mysterious smile.

Derya'nın arkadaşı Ceyda, grupta kahve telvesi okumasıyla tanınıyordu. Her fincandaki şekilleri dikkatlice inceliyor, gördüklerini gizemli bir gülümsemeyle açıklıyordu.

When it was Zeynep's turn, Ceyda looked at her cup for a long time without speaking. Zeynep was getting nervous, wondering what was taking so long. "What do you see?" she asked.

The next morning, Zeynep was checking her email when she noticed a message from a university in Germany. She had applied for a scholarship program months earlier and had almost forgotten about it.

Ertesi sabah Zeynep e-postalarını kontrol ederken Almanya'daki bir üniversiteden bir mesaj fark etti. Aylar önce bir burs programına başvurmuştu ve neredeyse unutmuştu.

Her hands were shaking as she opened the email. It said she had been accepted into the scholarship program! Zeynep couldn't believe the timing after the fortune-telling the night before.

She immediately called Derya and Ceyda, laughing and shouting with excitement. "The letter from far away was real!" she said. "I'm going to Germany!" Her friends screamed with joy on the phone.

Hemen Derya ve Ceyda'yı aradı, gülüp heyecanla bağırarak. "Uzaktan gelen mektup gerçekmiş!" dedi. "Almanya'ya gidiyorum!" Arkadaşları telefonda sevinçle çığlık attı.

That evening, the friends met again to celebrate properly. Ceyda joked that she was going to become a professional fortune teller now. Everyone laughed, still amazed by the coincidence.

O akşam arkadaşlar düzgünce kutlamak için tekrar bir araya geldi. Ceyda artık profesyonel bir falcı olacağı şakasını yaptı. Herkes güldü, tesadüfe hâlâ şaşkındı.

Zeynep knew it was probably just a happy coincidence, not real magic. Still, she smiled, thinking that sometimes life surprises you exactly when you need a little hope.

Zeynep bunun muhtemelen sadece mutlu bir tesadüf olduğunu, gerçek bir büyü olmadığını biliyordu. Yine de gülümsedi, bazen hayatın tam da biraz umuda ihtiyacın olduğunda seni şaşırttığını düşünerek.
