One day, Nasreddin Hodja needed a massive iron to boil some wheat in his garden. He walked to his neighbor's house and asked to one for a single weekend. The neighbor gave it happily.

A few days later, Hodja returned the cauldron. The neighbor opened the and found a tiny copper inside it. The neighbor asked with surprise, 'What is this little thing inside my cauldron?'

Hodja smiled brightly and said, 'Good news, my dear neighbor! Your cauldron gave to a small child while it stayed at my house!' The neighbor laughed, took both pots, and thought Hodja was a funny fool.

The next month, Hodja borrowed the same massive cauldron again. The neighbor gave it very quickly, hoping to get another free pot. However, weeks passed, and Hodja did not bring the cauldron back.

Finally, the neighbor knocked on Hodja's door and his cauldron. Hodja looked very sad and whispered, 'I have bad news. Your cauldron died.' The neighbor cried angrily, 'That is impossible! Can a metal pot die?' Hodja replied, 'If you believe it can give birth, why can't you believe it can die?'
