First Day at Work

Last Monday was Ceren's first day at her new job. She woke up very early because she was too nervous to sleep well. She checked her bag three times before leaving home.

Geçen Pazartesi Ceren'in yeni işindeki ilk günüydü. Çok erken uyandı çünkü çok gergin olduğu için iyi uyuyamamıştı. Evden çıkmadan önce çantasını üç kez kontrol etti.

She arrived at the office thirty minutes early. A woman at the front desk was smiling and welcomed her warmly. "You must be Ceren," she said kindly. "Everyone is expecting you."

Ofise otuz dakika erken vardı. Ön masadaki bir kadın gülümsüyordu ve onu sıcak bir şekilde karşıladı. "Siz Ceren olmalısınız," dedi nazikçe. "Herkes sizi bekliyor."

Her manager, Mr. Kaya, was waiting near the elevator. He was going to give her a tour of the office. He introduced her to several colleagues while they walked around.

Müdürü Bay Kaya asansörün yanında bekliyordu. Ona ofisin turunu yaptıracaktı. Dolaşırlarken birçok meslektaşıyla onu tanıştırdı.

During the tour, Ceren met her team members. They were working on a big project. One colleague, Selin, explained that they were preparing a presentation for a client.

Tur sırasında Ceren ekip üyeleriyle tanıştı. Büyük bir proje üzerinde çalışıyorlardı. Bir meslektaşı Selin, bir müşteri için sunum hazırladıklarını açıkladı.

At noon, Selin invited Ceren for lunch. They talked about the company and Ceren's studies. Selin gave her useful advice about the job. Ceren felt more comfortable after their talk.

Öğlen Selin, Ceren'i yemeğe davet etti. Şirket ve Ceren'in eğitimi hakkında konuştular. Selin ona iş hakkında yararlı tavsiyeler verdi. Konuşmalarından sonra Ceren kendini daha rahat hissetti.

In the afternoon, Mr. Kaya explained her first task. She was going to prepare a report about the market. Ceren was excited but also a little nervous about doing well.

Öğleden sonra Bay Kaya ona ilk görevini açıkladı. Piyasa hakkında bir rapor hazırlayacaktı. Ceren heyecanlıydı ama iyi bir iş çıkarmak konusunda biraz da gergindi.

By the end of the day, Ceren had made a small mistake in her report, but Selin helped her fix it quickly. "Everyone makes mistakes at the beginning," Selin said kindly.

Günün sonunda Ceren raporunda küçük bir hata yaptı ama Selin onu hızlıca düzeltmesine yardım etti. Selin nazikçe "Herkes başlangıçta hata yapar," dedi.

Ceren went home tired but happy. She called her mother and told her about the whole day. "I think I am going to like this job," she said with a big smile.

Ceren yorgun ama mutlu bir şekilde eve gitti. Annesini aradı ve ona bütün günü anlattı. "Bence bu işi seveceğim," dedi geniş bir gülümsemeyle.
