Tarık and Murat were mountain climbers. They had been climbing together for fifteen years. The mountains were their passion. One winter, they decided to climb a difficult in the Kaçkar Mountains. They had planned the trip for months. They had checked the weather, prepared their equipment, and studied the route carefully. They were ready.

The first day of the climb went well. The weather was clear and cold. The two friends climbed up the snowy mountain. They were happy and confident. In the evening, they made camp on a flat area of snow. They drank hot tea and looked at the stars. "This is why we climb," said Murat. "There is nothing more beautiful than the mountains in winter."

The next morning, they continued their climb. But the mountain had changed. It had been snowing heavily during the night, and a lot of fresh, loose snow had gathered on the steep . Tarık felt uneasy. He had been climbing long enough to know the danger. "The snow is ," he said. "We must be very careful. There could be an ."

They walked carefully across the slope. But suddenly, they heard a terrible sound — a deep, cracking roar. Tarık's blood ran cold. "Avalanche!" he screamed. Above them, a huge wall of snow had broken free and was rushing down the mountain toward them. It was moving incredibly fast. There was no time to run. The wave of snow hit them with tremendous force.

When the snow stopped, Tarık found himself half- but alive. He had been lucky; the edge of the avalanche had caught him. But Murat was gone. He had been completely buried under the snow. Tarık's heart filled with terror. "Murat!" he shouted. There was no answer. He knew that a buried person had only minutes to live. He had to act immediately.

Tarık used his avalanche , a device that finds buried climbers. His hands were shaking, but his training took over. The device led him to a spot in the snow. He began to desperately with his hands and a small shovel. The snow was heavy and hard. He dug and dug, fighting against time. "Hold on, my friend," he whispered. "I am coming."

After what felt like an eternity, Tarık's shovel touched something. It was Murat's backpack. He dug faster, his arms burning with exhaustion. Finally, he reached Murat's face. His friend was and blue, but he was breathing. Tarık cleared the snow from his mouth and nose. He pulled Murat out of the snow and began to warm him.

Slowly, Murat opened his eyes. He was very weak and cold, but he was alive. Tarık wrapped him in blankets and gave him warm liquid. Then he used his radio to call for help. A rescue helicopter came and took them both to safety. The doctors said that Murat would fully. Tarık had saved his friend's life.

In the hospital, Murat took Tarık's hand. "You saved my life," he said weakly. "If you had panicked, I would have died under that snow. But you stayed calm. You dug me out. I will never forget this." Tarık shook his head. "You would have done the same for me," he said. "That is what friends are for."

The two friends still climb mountains together, but they are even more careful now. The avalanche taught them a powerful lesson. "The mountains are beautiful, but they are also dangerous," Tarık says. "Nature is stronger than any human. We must always respect it. And on that day, I learned something else too: a true friend is someone who will dig through a mountain of snow to save you."
