The Earthquake Emergency Bag

After watching a documentary about earthquake safety last month, Gül decided that her family needed to prepare an emergency bag. She had always meant to do it but somehow had never found the time. This time, she promised herself that she would finally finish the task.

Gül started by researching what a proper earthquake bag should include. She read that every family member should have enough water and food for at least three days. If an earthquake happens, she learned, families will need to take care of themselves for a while before help arrives.

Gül knows that she will probably never need to use the bag, and she truly hopes she never does. Still, she feels calmer knowing that if something unexpected happens, her family has already taken a small but important step to stay safe.
